Have you ever waited for something with so much excitement it literally feels like your body is going to explode into party confetti? :) Have you ever experienced the mixed emotions of pure sitting-at-the-edge-of-your-seat with utmost dread? The: I cannot wait to begin packing my suitcase jumbled together with “Ah!! I have to sew four dresses?!” Welcome, to my world—a little bit of every emotion running 75 miles an hour throughout my body. I have 25 more days till I fly away to Ghana.
Along with all of these bothersome feelings comes the awesome realization that I am not alone. My Jesus, my Father, He is with me. He has faithfully met my needs financially, mentally, physically and even emotionally as I prepare for something I believe will change my life. And He is going with me; what an awesome God I serve.
David Livingstone and Frank Garlock are responsible for the following hymn. I found it very comforting and very challenging and I pray that you will be blessed by it.
Lord, Send Me Anywhere
O Lord, since Thou hast died
To give Thyself for me,
No sacrifice could be too great
For me to make for Thee.
Refrain:
Lord, send me anywhere, Only go with me;
Lay any burden on me, Only sustain me.
Sever any tie, Save the tie that binds me to Thy heart—
Lord Jesus, my King, I consecrate my life, Lord, to Thee.
I only have one life,
And that will soon be past;
I want my life to count for Christ,
What's done for Him will last.
Lord, send me anywhere, Only go with me;
Lay any burden on me, Only sustain me.
Sever any tie, Save the tie that binds me to Thy heart—
Lord Jesus, my King, I consecrate my life, Lord, to Thee.
I follow Thee, my Lord,
And glory in Thy cross;
I gladly leave the world behind
And count all gain as loss.
Lord, send me anywhere, Only go with me;
Lay any burden on me, Only sustain me.
Sever any tie, Save the tie that binds me to Thy heart—
Lord Jesus, my King, I consecrate my life, Lord, to Thee.
With blessings,
Frannie
That is a lovely hymn, Frannie!
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you and undertake for you in all your preparations.
Love in Christ,

I am excited for you, as well, Frannie! I know you will be a great blessing to those you serve in Ghana.
ReplyDeleteI believe you will find that the more you sew, the easier it becomes. Difficult tasks such as sewing only get easier if you push yourself to master them. I know you will do very well with your sewing the more you work on it.
Thank you for sharing all your preparations with us. It excites me to read about all you are doing in anticipation of this new adventure in your life!
Dear Rachel, Thank you! I am so thankful for your encouraging comment and blessing! With love in Christ, Frannie
ReplyDeleteDear Miss Linda, You are right! It seems daunting to me; however, I know tht if I push myself I shall learn. Thank you for your encouragement! Also, I am so glad for your excitement on my trip (both you and Rachel!! :)
Many blessings to you both!
Frannie
How exciting! Tonight at our girls' Bible study we talked about how it's a "sweet spot" in our lives when we do God's will. It's not always easy but we can look at it with confidence knowing that we have traded in our hopes and dreams for God's. I am just thrilled for you and so encouraged by your willingness to follow Christ! Many blessings and much love, Libby
