August 3rd

Friday, August 3rd 2012
Outside my window... This sun is rising and peeking its face over a land soaked with rain. Many are struggling with drought like weather and so we are very grateful for the storm which came through last night.

I am thinking... The world is a beautiful place in the morning hours, this day shall be full (and hopefully successful)

I am thankful... For a day off, sweet brothers, little chiweenies named Chloe
J
(This is an older picture but she is still as cute as a bug!)

In the kitchen... I shall set out some sort of roast (I won’t tell you that I cheated this morning and bought a Casey’s breakfast pizza this morning . . .)

I am wearing... A brown, soft skirt, blue ¾ sleeve shirt, a brown/blue Ghanaian head-covering, bare feet, and morning eyes

I am creating... A dress! Yes, my big plans for the day include cutting out the liner for my dress and trying to piece together a red, white, and blue floral jumper.

I am going... to follow the advice I’ve been reading in Stepping Heavenward and do the simple but needed chores of the day with faithfulness (why is this so hard to do?)

I am wondering... how difficult my dress will be . . . . oh dear.

I am reading... Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss, Discipline by Elizabeth Elliot

I am hoping... many beautiful hopes and that I will learn the lessons being taught!!

(There I am! Middle row, first on the right)

I am looking forward to... My trip to Pennsylvania (13 days!), finishing my memory work, visiting with teammates from Ghana, beginning school

Around the house... a brother under a large black-and-white blanket, mist covered windows, a kitchen island covered with mail and cups, and a large pile of laundry needing tackled

One of my favorite things... Rising early in the wee morning

A few plans for the rest of the week… Playing seamstress, our family finding a special for Sunday, planning Sunday School lessons
What are your plans for the day?
God bless you, dear!
Frannie

  1. What lovely plans you have for your day! Could you please post pictures of your dress and jumper when you finish sewing them? You're so blessed to be able to sew! I can't wait to learn someday. :-)

I loved the picture that you posted from Ghana! You are also blessed to have gotten to go on such a wonderful trip! :-D Do you mind if I ask what group you went with?

Thanks also for popping by and posting your Thursday loves - definitely agreeing with you on the rain and cozy sweatshirts in particular!

I hope your day is as peaceful and productive as you'd like it to be!!

    Hugs,
    Vicki

  3. Dear Vickie:
Oh, I do hope you get the opportunity to learn . . . I pent many a frustrated night trying to get things sewn together ( I still do) but it is so much fun when I finally "get it!"

I was SO blessed to be able to go to Ghana. I went with a group from Charity Christian Missions. We were attending a three month long mission training school. :)

    God bless you dear!

    Dear Cole,
Hello! YouTube is great! I always like looking uo videos for different crafts and I do learn so much!

I do have a few headcoverings from Ghana and I love them! They are alot of fun and bring back good, sweet memories.

The group I am pictured with is 20 different students from all over the US and Canada. We were brought together for a mission training school but left very good friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Thank you for leaving a comment!!

    With love to you both!
